Course Description:
Clinic involving new patient assignments and
the continuation of clinical cases in progress. The clinic also
requires diagnosis and treatment of five arches of complete
partial and/or immediate dentures. Follow-up care is provided
for patients previously treated. In addition, temporary partial
dentures, indirect relines and service on the "adjustment chair"
are included in this course.
Educational Objectives:
The student will gain knowledge in the
indirect reline of a denture, an interim RPD and denture
adjustment. The objectives will be for the student to be able to
(1) complete and insert five additional arches of complete
denture, removable partial denture or immediate denture that are
physiologically and mechanically acceptable, (2) provide
follow-up care, (3) do an indirect reline, an interim RPD and
denture adjustments.
Course Outline:
Each student has a weekly scheduled session.
Patients requiring removable complete dentures, partial
dentures, immediate dentures, interim complete dentures, and
interim removable partial dentures are treated. |
Course Expectations:
To successfully meet
the requirements of this course, the student must be present
at each weekly scheduled session, demonstrate the knowledge
and skill to pass a written comprehensive examination in Winter
quarter, participate in two sessions of Prosthetic Adjustment
chair and provide routine follow-up care for all the prosthodontic
patients the student has treated.
Effective
Winter Quarter 2007, completion of on-line course evaluation
is a requirement of this course. Failure to comply will result
in an "Incomplete" grade being assigned.
