Kwok Hung (Albert) Chung, DDS , PhD
Dr. Chung received his DDS degree (1979) from the National Defense Medical Center-Taiwan, a PhD degree (1987) in Biomaterials from Northwestern University in Chicago, and a Certificate in Prosthodontics from University of Texas, Health Science Center in San Antonio (2002). He has numerous publications in the area of restorative materials and implant-supported restorations. For more than 25 years, his practice has been focused on esthetic dental treatments including fillings, dentures, dental implants, and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Mats Kronstrom
Mats Kronstrom has a DDS and Ph.D from Malmo University in Sweden. He held a position as associate Professor in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, Faculty of Odontology, Malmo University between 2000 to 2003. He joined Dalhousie University in 2003 where he served as Director of the Implant Program and was also involved in teaching and lecturing in the Graduate Prosthodontic Program. In 2006 he joined the University of Washington and is the Course Director of the Undergraduate Implant Program (3rd year) and Advanced Restorative Dentistry (4th year).
Dr. Kronstrom graduated as a Prosthodontist 12 years ago and was maintaining a full time clinical position at the Department of Prosthodontics, Central Hospital in Skovde, Sweden until he decided to join the Faculty at Malmo University . In 1999, he successfully defended his Thesis “Prosthodontics and the General Dentist”for the Ph.D degree at Malmo University, Sweden. Dr. Kronstrom is involved in several ongoing research projects related to dental implants. He has numerous publications in the area of prosthodontics, dental implants and decision making and is the principle supervisor for one Ph.D student, and 2 Master of Science students in Sweden.
Xavier Lepe, DDS, MS
Dr. Lepe holds a Bachelor of Science degree (1976) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (1980) from Universidad de Guadalajara, a specialty certificate in Combined Prosthodontics (1985) and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology (1987) from Loyola University Chicago.
Ernesto Ricardo Schwedhelm, DDS, MSD, FRCDC(P)
Dr. Schwedhelm received his D.D.S at the Universidad Tecnologica de Mexico in 1978. From Indiana University, he received an M.S.D (1983), Certificate of Fixed and Removable Partial Prosthodontics (1983) and a Certificate of Removable Prosthodontics, also in 1983. The national Dental Examining Board of Canada certified him for practice in August of 1983. He completed a Fellowhip in Prosthodontics at the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in 1995 and a Certificate of Prosthodontics from the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia in 1997.
Dr. Hai Zhang, DMD, PhD
Dr. Zhang received a DMD from West China University of Medical Sciences (1992) and his PhD in Oral Biology (2002) and Certificate in Prosthodontics from the University of Connecticut (2002). Dr. Zhang is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, and previously taught as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at the University of Connecticut (2002-2004). Dr. Zhang holds a dental license in the state of Washington. His practice is primarily focused on Prosthodontic procedures (such as crowns and bridges, cosmetic veneers, removable partial and complete dentures, dental implants, etc.). One of his patient treatments was recently featured in the official American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) website as an example of how a Prosthodontist can change a patient’s smile.
Dr. Zhang has been awarded a number of professional honors, including serving as the oral session chair in a recent annual meeting of International Association of Dental Research (IADR). His research areas include a study on bone responding to dental implants and a clinical trial of a zirconia-based full porcelain crown system (LAVA), among many others. His research is supported by both NIH and industry grants. Dr. Zhang has published many papers in reputable journals and also was invited to contribute to two books. He has been invited to be a member of the Editorial Review Board of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and served as an expert reviewer for many other scientific and clinical journals. He currently holds memberships in the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, and the International Association of Dental Research. Dr. Zhang’s hobbies include volleyball, tennis, fishing, hiking, photography and gardening.
