City of Seattle Awards Grants to Small Businesses in SE Seattle

Rainier Family Dentistry honored by Mayor Greg Nickels

On Wednesday, July 6, 2005 Mayor Greg Nickels met with Dr. Pollene Speed and Dr. George McIntyre, Rainier Family Dentistry and other small businesses participating in the City's Façade Improvement Program in SE Seattle. Mayor Greg Nickels recognized 16 businesses - and highlighted Rainier Family Dentistry -- that have reinvested in Southeast Seattle through the City's facade improvement program. The owners represent businesses in the Beacon Hill, Brighton/Dunlap, Columbia City, along Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Rainier Beach neighborhoods.

Dean Somerman, Mayor Nickels, small business owners, SouthEast Effective Development staff and board members, and SE Seattle community leaders from various neighborhood and business organizations were also on hand. The event was hosted by Rainier Family Dentistry and took place in the parking lot south of the Dentistry building.
