City of Seattle Awards Grants to Small Businesses in SE Seattle

Family Dentistry honored by Mayor Greg Nickels
On Wednesday, July 6, 2005 Mayor Greg Nickels met with Dr. Pollene
Speed and Dr. George McIntyre, Rainier Family Dentistry and other
small businesses participating in the City's Façade Improvement
Program in SE Seattle. Mayor Greg Nickels recognized 16 businesses
- and highlighted Rainier Family Dentistry -- that have reinvested
in Southeast Seattle through the City's facade improvement program.
The owners represent businesses in the Beacon Hill, Brighton/Dunlap,
Columbia City, along Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Rainier Beach
neighborhoods.
Dean Somerman, Mayor Nickels, small business owners, SouthEast
Effective Development staff and board members, and SE Seattle community
leaders from various neighborhood and business organizations were
also on hand. The event was hosted by Rainier Family Dentistry
and took place in the parking lot south of the Dentistry building.
