Infected Health Care Workers

A. Employees

Employees who are infected with a bloodborne disease or other medical condition which may impact the treatment of patients are subject to the following policies which are provided in the Appendix of this document:

  • University of Washington Health Sciences Center Guidelines for Healthcare Workers Infected with HBV or HIV (Appendix C).

  • The School of Dentistry policy, Fitness to Participate in Patient Care (Appendix D).

B. Students

Students of the School of Dentistry who are infected with a bloodborne disease or other medical condition which may impact the treatment of patients are subject to the following policies which are provided in the Appendix of this document:

  • University of Washington Health Sciences Center Guidelines for Healthcare Workers Infected with HBV or HIV (Appendix C).

  • The School of Dentistry policy Fitness to Participate in Patient Care (Appendix D).
