Information for DDS Transfer Students
Thank you for your interest in the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Our Admissions Committee may, under rare circumstances, consider students who are US citizens or permanent residents attending US or Canadian dental schools for transfer into our curriculum. Acceptance is considered on a space available basis. Because our class size is 55, we rarely have space to accept transfers. Due to the differences in curriculum between other schools and the University of Washington, transfer students will have to complete at least three and possibly all four years of the curriculum.
Financial aid (federal, state and school) is available to all US citizens and resident immigrants. To qualify for this funding at the University of Washington, you will need to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid by our priority filing date of February 28. You will need to file "on time" even if a decision about acceptance has not been made by February 28.
If you wish to proceed with application to our predoctoral curriculum, please submit the following materials by by March 1 for entry to the following Autumn Quarter:
- The School of Dentistry supplementary application (enclosed).

Applications are considered once per year in July. If accepted, your current standing and the courses completed at your current school will be taken into consideration when determining your placement within our curriculum. In addition, individual departments may require successful completion of competency examinations once enrolled.
