Sami Dogan, DDS, Dr. Med. Dent.
Education/Training
Dr. Dogan holds a DDS (1991) from Ankara University Dental School in Turkey . He is also the recipient of a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (1998) degree from the Medical University of Hannover in Germany.
Dr. Dogan teaches
- Restorative Dentistry 515 - Dental Anatomy and Occlusion (Autumn Quarter)
- Restorative Dentistry 630/640. Clinical supervision of third- and fourth-year dental students.
Research Interests
Dr. Dogan's principal areas of scientific interests are the biocompatility of dental materials, especially in bacterial and mammalian cell culture systems, as well as microbiology, histology, pathology and immunology of oral tissues.
Awards and Professional Service
Dr. Dogan has held faculty appointments as an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of Hannover Dental School in 2000 and 2001. He maintains memberships in the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), the German Society of Dental Oral and Craniomandibular Sciences (DGZMK) and the German Society of Dental Implantology (DGI). He holds dental licenses in Germany and the state of Washington . He was awarded the Best Dissertation of 1998 award by the German Society of Periodontology.
Personal Interests
Dr. Dogan's personal interests include classical and world music, movies, outdoor activities (especially running and biking) and trying to protect the environment.
