Programs offered
There are three separate and distinct tracks offered in advanced education in pediatric dentistry by the University of Washington. All three lead to a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. The differences are in the primary clinical location, research and academic requirements and duration of the tracks.
Yakima Based Program
Two-year Certificate Program: Three positions
Yakima Rural Residency in Pediatric Dentistry Match # 4369
The primary location for this track is in Yakima, a rural community in eastern Washington. The majority of training is provided in a community-based clinic of the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. The research requirement does not result in a MSD.

Seattle-Based Programs
Training is carried out in two primary teaching sites: the UW School of Dentistry and Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center (CHRMC) which are 2.3 miles apart. CHRMC is a highly regarded tertiary care pediatric medical center.
Two-year MSD and Certificate Program: Two positions Match # 4363
This track is a joint Residency/Masters program. The research component will result in the award of a Master of Sciences in Dentistry. This must be obtained before the certificate in Pediatric Dentistry is given. Students must be accepted to both the Pediatric Dentistry Program and the Graduate School at the University of Washington.
Three-year Leadership Education in Pediatric Dentistry (LEPED) Program: Two positions Match # 4364
This track has three options. Students must be accepted to both the Pediatric Dentistry Program and the Graduate School at the University of Washington. Application to the School of Public Health will be done AFTER acceptance to the program; it is not required before the first year.

- MSD and certificate in Pediatric Dentistry with a certificate in Academic Leadership (for more information, Click Here.)
