Atlas of Pediatric Dentistry
Nutrition and Oral Health for Children
Devereaux Peterson, DMD, MSD, MEd, PhD, MBA
John Davis, DDS, MSD, FICD
With additional contributing authors
The Atlas of Pediatric Dentistry is a web-based, interactive, comprehensive textbook of pediatric dentistry in an atlas format. The subject of pediatric dentistry is covered fully; chapters are included on oral diagnosis, dental anomalies, behavior management, preventive dentistry, care of infants and toddlers, anesthesia, restorative dentistry, pulp therapy, surgery in the primary dentition, traumatic injuries, and space maintenance. There are approximately 3500 pages and 2500 color clinical photographs, radiographs, and illustrations. Special features include interactive end-of-chapter quizzes, laboratory manuals, a scrollable index, and a photo bank for parent and patient education. A team of University of Washington faculty updates the Atlas regularly. Currently, private practitioners, dental students, assistants, hygienists, residents, medical students, and other care providers use it. The Atlas has been used successfully as the textbook in pediatric dentistry for health science students at the University of Washington for several years. It has been determined through surveys of practicing dentists and dental students who have used the book that it is well accepted and preferred by the majority of those surveyed over traditional texts. Users especially like the book’s ease-of-use, large number of images, and universal accessibility. The Atlas is an excellent office resource for staff in-service training. It now is being released in the 2nd Edition and is available by online subscription and on compact disk.
System Requirements: Java enabled browser with Java 2 Standard 1.4.0 or above to view quizzes. For best results viewing the Atlas on the Internet, use a high-speed internet connection.
