Course Description:
The past decade has witnessed several changes in the world of dentistry. New technologies, instruments and materials resulted in a better diagnosis and more predictable therapy. The use of operating-microscopes, pulse oximeters, apex locators, transillumination, and cone-beam computed tomography have changed the way we diagnose, plan and perform endodontic therapy thus, more predictably and accurately. Understanding our possibilities and limitations, provided us with a unique opportunity to offer treatment options with many potential benefits for our patients. Participants will receive a comprehensive review of the benefits and applications of new available technology for treatment planning using all diagnostic modalities available including new three dimensional digital imaging techniques.
Course Objectives - As a result of attending this course, the participant should be able to:
- Have a thorough knowledge of the available technology for diagnosis pulpal and periradicular pathology.
- Understand the rational, indications, limitations and clinical applications of Cone beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).
- Use current technology for diagnosis and treatment planning of endodontically compromised teeth.
