Course Description:

Dental materials and techniques have improved significantly in recent years and have led to the development of increasingly sophisticated treatment protocols. The complexity of treatment planning has been exacerbated by the introduction of dental implants as a substitute for single teeth or as abutments for replacing multiple missing teeth. Today, it is difficult for one clinician to successfully treat complex orthodontic, periodontal, and restorative problems without a coordinated team approach. However, identification of the correct solution for these multidisciplinary dental problems may be somewhat controversial and may lead to disagreement between the members of the team. Doctors Kokich, Mathews and Spear have worked together for over 20 years and have considerable experience and information regarding the treatment of interdisciplinary patients. This one-day course will use many clinical examples to illustrate and discuss the management of controversial areas in interdisciplinary dentistry and describe how they can affect the treatment of our multidisciplinary patients.
